Barak has more than 15 years of experience in performance improvement, financial planning and analysis, restructuring and general management. He has particular expertise in manufacturing and consumer products as well as restaurants and foodservice, pharmaceutical services, professional services, retail, technology and telecommunications.
Barak is skilled in operational assessment and financial analysis, developing effective cost-reduction and cash-management strategies, creating long-term business plans, defining and implementing financial and operational restructuring plans and providing due-diligence services.
He has worked with startups and established firms, both distressed and healthy, and is a trusted client partner who understands the core consumer, anticipates opportunities and risks and bridges the gap between client leadership and stakeholders.

Provided cash-flow management, integrated financial forecasting and operational-improvement services to the following clients:
Led customer- and product-profitability analysis for a $250 million salty-snacks manufacturer in financial distress using customer-specific P&Ls, regression models to evaluate promotion effectiveness and price-increase analyses.
Managed the assessment of the organization structure, roles and responsibilities and processes for a division of a $10 billion scientific- and technical-services firm, leading to increased efficiency and reduced error rates for the packaging and distribution of drugs in clinical trial.
Led strategic sourcing of the Shipping Supplies and MRO categories for a $220 million glassware manufacturer. Developed sourcing strategies, managed RFP and negotiation processes and structured supply agreements to provide ongoing annual savings of 10%.
Prior to Winter Harbor, Barak was a Director at CRG Partners, a national middle-market restructuring and turnaround firm acquired by Deloitte in 2012; and a Manager in Huron Consulting Group’s Operational Consulting Practice. Barak’s nine years of industry experience includes several positions in the finance organization at Unilever, a $50 billion multinational manufacturer of consumer packaged goods, where he was the finance business partner to marketing and sales teams in the U.S. and Latin America. His efforts helped increase the profitable growth of multiple product lines and customers. He also served in business development and general management positions in various companies, including a publisher and a software provider.
