Richard (Rick) is a senior director at Winter Harbor, providing clients with strategic and tactical turnaround solutions based on understanding their business objectives, market dynamics, and revenue and cost opportunities. Rick has extensive experience in creating value in new and struggling organizations. He has directed transactional processes including the raising of capital, guiding entities in out-of-court and court-supervised restructurings, and overseeing secured and unsecured debtor-side advising, liquidations, and M&A negotiations. He has served in senior operating and leadership roles including CRO, CEO, and CFO, while developing and executing reorganization plans and reporting to boards of directors and loan committees.
His most recent business endeavor was establishing a private consulting practice focused on turnarounds and forming high-value opportunities for small to mid-size businesses. Rick partnered with clients across the United States from Boston to San Diego, providing strategy, operational, financial, restructuring, and workout services. In addition to establishing a tech start-up, his professional experience also includes leading a packaged goods company as CRO, and then CEO, where he led an effective turnaround and M&A effort, resulting in the successful sale of the company.
Rick spends his weekends sailing the coast of New England, spending time with his two grown children and ensuring the financial success of Boston restaurants. He is a board member, investor, and founding advisor of a non-profit dedicated to exposing children in underserved communities to careers in performing arts. Rick holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University.
