Jay Montgomery | Manager
Jay is a manager at Winter Harbor, responsible for overseeing corporate reorganizations, turnarounds, and financial transactions. He specializes in strategic planning, process improvement, crisis management, cash flow forecasting, and expanding business operations.
Jay has played an integral role in directing accounting and treasury operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and treasury departments. He has developed and refined performance metrics and cash models to ensure businesses are performing at or above company standards. Jay has conducted negotiations with lenders, equity partners, and lien holders, while acting as a liaison between these parties to ensure company compliance with financial covenants.
Jay previously served as the co-chair of the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers (NASGW) Credit Exchange. Jay also served as chairman of the unsecured creditors’ committees in both the Gander Mountain and “Herb” Philipson's bankruptcies.
Jay received his Master of Business Administration from University of South Carolina and his Bachelor of Arts from University of Tennessee. Outside work, Jay enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, hiking, and fishing. He and his family reside in Columbia, SC.
