Susan Storey | Managing Director
Susan is a managing director at Winter Harbor who has over 25 years as a crisis manager, interim CEO and turnaround consultant. She has partnered with private equity investors, banks and boards of directors to restructure distressed companies in a wide variety of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, retail and financial services.
Susan has worked with companies throughout North America and Mexico and has extensive international experience. She was an advisor to the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade for two years working to restructure and negotiate sales of companies in the steel and aircraft manufacturing industries. She was also CEO of several Czech companies leading turnaround teams who created restructuring plans to right-size the operations and compete in new markets. While serving as managing partner of the western region of a Big Four accounting firm, she led engagements in real estate development, time shares and high-tech manufacturing. Most recently her focus has been in the middle-market as a trusted advisor to owners of mature companies struggling for financial stability in a rapidly changing marketplace.
Susan recently returned to her native city of St. Louis, where she worked to elect the first female mayor of the city. She enjoys hosting her family of seven siblings and 20 nieces and nephews, who enjoy her culinary experiments and barbecue. She is an avid art collector and gardener, and continues to travel to Europe and North America primarily to visit friends. Susan graduated summa cum laude from Boston College, and served as an officer for International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation and Turnaround Management Association.
